Default What are the guidelines for a wedding of a Catholic and a Jew?

My girlfriend and I have been dating for 4.5 years and I imagine we will be getting engaged soon. She is Jewish and I am Catholic, and I wanted to get an idea of what the steps were to have an interfaith wedding. A couple of points:

1) I assume I would have to get a special dispensation from the Church, and that process can get started through the priest who officiates it. Please correct me if I am wrong.

2) She has already agreed to raise our kids Catholic, albeit with additional celebrations for the Jewish holidays. She wants them to appreciate their heritage. As I see the Catholic faith as the fulfillment of the Jewish faith, I have no problem with that as I think it will give them a stronger foundation for Church history and biblical history.

3) She wanted to know, since it is an interfaith wedding, whether it has to be a Mass. I'm undecided on how hard I want to push for this, and would like some insight on whether it is an obligation. She has stated that she would feel awkward (not for herself, but for the guests) since somewhere around 80% of the guests will be a mix of atheists, Jews, evangelical Christians, and fallen-away Catholics.

4) Finally, she has expressed a desire for both a priest and a rabbi to officiate. Is that possible?

Thanks and God bless.
