Default My pants smell like incense again...

Just felt like saying that.

Once again I served at Mass and a Novena with Bennediction last night and I was the thurifer. I just got dressed to head out for a meeting and my pants smell wonderful.

I love it when that happens.

Lol! When one of the babies gets baptized I don't wash them until I can't smell the holy oils anymore! Bad Mommy! The odor of sanctity!

I commiserate.

After the meeting, your business associates will say to each other, 'must be a high-roll that one, smoking Cubans before lunch!'

Too funny! My kids didn't want to wash after they were confirmed. But my son was 10 when he was. Needed to bathe!

I love the smell of incense as well. Sometimes at the abbey I'm affiliated with I go to Terce before Sunday Mass, and the smell of the incense used at Lauds that morning still lingers.

I bought some church incense from the abbey shop a long time ago. I thought it would be cool to use it in my little oratory when I chanted the LOTH. Unfortunately it's a small confined space and I nearly choked; in fact I couldn't even chant, my voice seized right up. So no incense for the Office

Which just means I'll have to build that small (and well-ventilated) back yard chapel I've been dreaming about for the longest time

It always impressed me how the monks could chant a long gospel passage flawlessly while the acolyte was swinging the censer and the smoke was rising up to his face. Must be the long years of training...

Yea, I wish my pants smelled like incense. My marriage would be a lot happier if they did.

My goddaughter's mother did that. Her MIL kept saying, "Wash her hair and get rid of that horrible smell," but D. just smiled and kept sniffing MK's head.

I sit up front at the EF Mass, and the priest uses a ton of incense. When I get home my hair and clothes smell of incense for a long time. I love it.

BTW, I find that the Chanel line of perfumes don't clash with the smell of incense. Just an observation.

I was the Thurifer for the EF two weeks ago at our Parish. Sneakly little me loaded the thurible right up with incense just before the consecration. I put sooooo much in that it was only after everyone had recieved Holy Communion that the smoke STARTED to recede. My policy for thurifying at the EF is: LOTS of incense at the consecration. I want that Moment to be the most grand I can make it.

My understanding is that the priest loads the incense.

What kind did you get? My favorite was Jerusalem.

Father does load it when it is time for the Introit and before He reads the Gospel, and before He says the Lavabo. However, for practical reasons, I load it (I don't bless it of course though) before the Consecration.
