1st Counsins Marry? Have Marital Relations?

[/COHELP! Getting different answers…Can first counsins marry. Bible says relatives shall not have relations. I take this to mean no sex, whether a marraige or not. These are baptists. Their Church pastor told them this was all OK. By getting married don’t they lose God’s grace…and salvation?
Thanks EdLOR]

Marriage of first cousins is not prohibited by the divine law. It is an impediment in Canon Law, but can be dispensed.

However, the people in question are not Catholics and therefore not bound by Catholic Canon Law. They can marry validly if their state’s civil laws allow it.

However, I know of at least two cases where it had deleterious physical/mental effects on their children. It is definitely unwise.
