It would be seem improper to consider allowing a Catholic monarch unless the Church of England were disestablished. Having said that, I realize that the monarch can technically be many other religions or denominations without violating the law. Disestablishment would help eradicate this potential contradiction.

Well, that would be refreshing, to say the least. Anything that fights against an old, ingrained prejudice is a step in a better direction.
