The Kenyan Govt and church leaders has been quick to warn any Christians from attacking any mosque or muslims in retaliation. The truth is that there’s an attempt by the Al-Shabab to spark a religious war in the country- Muslims have been in Kenya for 1,000 years and Christians roughly one and a half centuries without religious wars. They’ve been targetting churches on Sunday for over a year now, with this same intent. Muslim leaders demanded that the Police protect the churches because they are just as aware (and just as afraid!) of the agenda here, they don’t want religious-themed conflicts in the country.

What I’m getting at is that some terrorists/Islamists have inflitrated the country and tried to radicalize some youth to attack Christian religious institutions in order to force a retaliation against Muslim Kenyans by Christians and so start an artificial religious war that does not really exist. Plus the elections around the corner have sparked some political grumbling in the Muslim-dominant Coast which is where this incident happened. It’s not really what it looks like.

Why are not these "Muslim leaders" urging their fellow muslims to protect the churches themselves.

My call remains, "Where are the Pauperes commilitones Christi Templique Solomonici when you need them?".
