In another sign of the leftward drift of the national Republican Party, only 24 Republican senators voted on Tuesday for an amendment to the global AIDS bill to prohibit AIDS funds from being used to pay for forced abortions and sterilizations in Communist China. The $50 billion legislation, which was still being debated on the Senate floor, has the support of Senator and presidential candidate Barack Obama, as well as organizations associated with his financial backer, billionaire leftist George Soros.

[Only 16 Senators, all conservative Republicans, voted against the **massive $50 billion global AIDS spending bill (S. 2731) when it came up for a vote on Wednesday night.

The final vote was 80-16 with Senators Barack Obama and John McCain, both original sponsors of the bill, on the campaign trail and not available to cast a vote on the Senate floor.]

In a provision that has ramifications for the immigration debate, the bill allowed AIDS-infected aliens into the U.S., despite the obvious health dangers.

Gam, the bill passed in the Senate by a wide margin on Thursday. medicalnewstoday.com/articles/115439.php

Gam, I dont’ understand your post. The headline reads that the bill is back in the Senate, even though it passed in the Senatat by a wide margin on Thursday. medicalnewstoday.com/articles/115439.php

You then say your article is from LifeSite, yet you post a link to some website called WorldHerald.com. What is are you trying to say? What is your point?

Thanks.

It is from LifeSiteNew.com but if I posted their page it would be difficult to find so I only posted the link that they had posted.

I was confused by the article because I was uncertain if just an amendment had passed or the full bill but it was the full $50 Billion bill. What creeps we have in the Senate.

We need to call President Bush and ask him to veto this bill.

This amendment vote failed so apparently we will even pay for forced abortions and sterilizations in China.

Here is the voting record from the Senate.

bump…

Here is what Paul Ehrlich had to say:

as a matter of fact, their [the Bush administration] whole operation against science has been so dreadful that the scientific community has literally gone and tried to get them to change. In other words, the scientific community went to John Marburger, who was hired as a science advisor and then demoted and became Bush’s lapdog, and said, “You’re nuts! You know, you guys have got to stop distorting the science. It’s not related to global warming.”

**They took all the condom stuff off the websites, and so on, even though every scientist knows that we have too many people and that we should be reducing population size and that it’s good for people, and women in particular, and for the environment to have smaller families and to save lives and AIDS. And they took it away. **They reinstituted the Mexico policy that Ronald Reagan, his great hero, put in that’s killed hundreds of thousands or maybe millions of women already.
