a long battle

Dear friends,

Please pray for me. After converting to Christianity I have been being attacked by satan. Since I am now a catholic and on the true path, these attacks have intensified. He seems to be attacking me in every way, from employing terrible tacktics to desperately try to stop me from praying the Rosary, telling me to spit on priests, Bibles and the eucharistic host to tempting me to my weaknesses and trying to convince me that God does not exist.

After so much of this i feel unable to find any spiritual peace, even in the Lord. I feel like after so much fighting my energies are running low, and I am finding it hard to trust in Jesus.

Please pray for me.

May God bless you and grant your intentions.

I’m praying for you. Trust me I know how you feel. A bad thought or urge comes into your head and you can’t get rid of it. It hurts, it really does. Praying for you. And someone pray for me too.

Saint Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle;
be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray:
and do thou, O Prince of the heavenly host,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan and all the evil spirits
who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen

Please speak to a trusted and wise priest about your problems.

O glorious Archangel St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, defend us in battle, and in the struggle which is ours against the principalities and Powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, against spirits of evil in high places (Eph 6:12). Come to the aid of men, whom God created immortal, made in his own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil (Wis 2:23-24, 1 Cor 6:20).

Fight this day the battle of the Lord, together with the holy angels, as already thou hast fought the leader of the proud angels, Lucifer, and his apostate host, who were powerless to resist thee, nor was there place for them any longer in Heaven. But that cruel, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil or Satan, who seduces the whole world, was cast into the abyss with all his angels (Rev 12:7-9).

The Church venerates thee as protector and patron; to thee has God entrusted the souls of men to be established in heavenly beatitude.

Oh, pray to the God of peace that He may put Satan under our feet, so far conquered that he may no longer be able to hold men in captivity and harm the Church. Offer our prayers in the sight of the Most High, so that they may quickly conciliate the mercies of the Lord; and beating down the dragon, the ancient serpent, who is the devil and Satan, do thou again make him captive in the abyss, that he may no longer seduce the nations.

Praying for you poodle! (and eagleswings :))

St Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him, we humble pray, and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Hosts, by the power of God, thrust into hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Get a St. Benedict medal blessed and wear it around your neck, saying the prayer in your head whenever you feel satan threatening you. Literally the moment I put mine on, it was like a fire was lit in my heart and nothing could be done to me. :slight_smile: :slight_smile:

Dear Poodle,
When i first believed the devil attacked me too, although it was more physical than mental. Fortunatly i already had some basic training in spiritual warefare. You need to know that God has given you authority over the demonic. You are not helpless against the attacks of the enemy. Scripture says “resist the devil, and he will flee from you”. Jesus has given us His own name to use as a powerful instrument of authority. Just say something like " Devil, in the name of Jesus, you have no right over me, Jesus is Lord over me. I command you to leave and in the name of Jesus I command you to go where He would send you. Also claim the Blood of Jesus against him. Surround yourself with the Blood. It cannot fail.

This is only a beginning for you, but it will work. To learn more i would suggest reading “Pigs in the Parlour” by Fred and Ida May Hammond. Also “Rules of Engagement” by the late Derek Prince.

God Bless

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Lord, I pray for fireproofpoodle. May he/she meet with a good, holy priest to help him/her through these struggles. It sounds like a case of the devil trying to work on fireproofpoodle to discourage him/her from continuing in a life of strong faith. Please grant fireproofpoodle some relief from these painful thoughts and grant him/her the gift of perseverence - as perseverence will build fireproofpoodle into an even stronger Catholic with more reason to hope and trust in you. Some OCD sufferers suffer from such thoughts and take medicine. May fireproofpoodle be able to get through this problem in whatever way his/her priest thinks is best. Thank you, Lord, for hearing my prayer. Amen.

Thank you to all who are praying. I am plesed to say that the Lord granted, in last night’s prayer, that I should experiance his comfort with hardly any blasphemous thoughts. Thanks, and God bless.

Saint Michael, the Archangel!
Glorious Prince,
chief and champion of the heavenly hosts;
guardian of the souls of men;
conqueror of the rebel angels!
How beautiful art thou,
in thy heaven-made armor.
We love thee,
dear Prince of Heaven!

We, thy happy clients,
yearn to enjoy thy special protection.
Obtain for us from God
a share of thy sturdy courage;
pray that we may have a strong and tender love
for our Redeemer and,
in every danger or temptation,
be invincible against the enemy of our souls.
O standard-bearer of our salvation!
Be with us in our last moments
and when our souls quit this earthly exile,
carry them safely to the judgement seat of Christ,
and may Our Lord and Master
bid thee bear us speedily
to the kingdom of eternal bliss.
Teach us ever to repeat the sublime cry:
“Who is like unto God?”

Amen.

Sorry, fireproofpoodle, I shouldn’t have mentioned OCD in my post. Strong blasphemous thoughts and strong sexual thoughts are common for those individuals who are going through St John of the Cross’ Dark Night - a good, purging experience for the soul. Just persevere and know that you are being tested like gold through fire. God is at work in you as experience this dark night - a good thing for your soul and relationship with our Lord now and in the long run - no matter how bad it feels and seems.

Yes, I am familiar with the Dark night. I went through a very deep one for five months not all that long ago, and I have to say it wasn’t very nice at all. I very nearly lost faith, but the Lord brought me through. Now that I am stronger and more experianced, I am sure that He can bring me through again!

I do believe you are still going through the Dark Night, firproofpoodle. God seems to be preparing you for perfect union with him. Praise God!

Continued prayers……

O Lord, Holy Father, omnipotent and eternal God, I give You thanks and I bless Your holy name. I know I’m a poor miserable sinner but hear a cause that is just, pay heed to my cry, turn your ear to my prayer, no deceit is on my lips. Amen

For your intentions

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Praise Him indeed! But how do I know when the night is truly over?

When the night is gone fromour heart and mind replaced by love and peace. You will see the world in a different way. PLease don’t think that you won’t have “battles” every day, you will, but this is God’s way of making you realize and appreciate the good things even more…
