A Red Mass

What is a Red Mass?

Basically a mass held annually for members of the legal professions and government officials.

Wikipedia explains it: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_Mass

our Diocese also holds a White Mass: for those in the medical profession.

There is also a Blue Mass for First Responders

It was interesting to learn that the first recorded Red Mass was celebrated in the Cathedral of Paris in 1245.

In some countries, it is extended to grade school and high school students studying in catholic schools. Sometimes it is called the Mass of the Holy Spirit or Mass for the Opening of the School year.

Well, I had no idea that there was even such a thing as a Red Mass. You learn something new every day!

The Mass of the Holy Spirit is a very beautiful title.
