About the Lincoln Project

Watch the one minute ad.

No thanks.

When I read the heading, I thought this was going to be a more recent Trump victim schtick about being more" persecuted" than Lincoln( who was obviously shot).
Trump called Kellyann’s husband," moonface." She goes to work and her boss published moonface to millions insulting her husband’s face. What’s that like?

As if the whole Breitbart stuff being presented as news wasn’t bad enough, now we have ads??? I miss the days when news was news and the only opinions were the ones discussed here.

Mourning in America.

Yeah, the board is going to be even worse that it currently is as we approach November. As much as I post here, they’d be better off without this board.

Political ads. Nothing new

The ad itself isn’t the news. The twitter rant by the president was.

During an election year there will be ads against any candidate. What doesn’t usually happen is the the candidate takes to Twitter and uses insults against the people who put out the ad.

LOL…Makes me think of “A Few Good Men”

But there was a newsworthy component of the ad: it came from a group of Republicans.

Worked the first time. You’d think your shock would have worn off after 4 years.

Yes, so there is still hope for the republican party. Some of them have not been brainwashed to be trumpists.

The interesting part about the ad is that it was inspired by a famous 1984 Reagan reelection ad called “Morning in America.” According to the Washington Post, the Reagan ad “showed happy, prosperous Americans, smiling, going to work and getting married” and ended with the words: “It’s morning again in America, and under the leadership of President Reagan, our country is prouder and stronger and better. Why would we ever want to return to where we were less than four short years ago?”

The new ad by George Conway and some other Republicans instead of making a case for Trump’s reelection is making a case for why he shouldn’t be reelected. It shows “dilapidated houses, a worried man in a hospital corridor, head in hands, a sick person being wheeled on a gurney, vacant industrial buildings, a man applying for unemployment compensation, crowds of Americans lined up wearing masks and scenes from a Trump speech.” It concludes with the words, “There’s mourning in America. And under the leadership of Donald Trump, our country is weaker, sicker and poorer. And now, Americans are asking, ‘If we have another four years like this, will there even be an America?’ ”

Maybe Johnson did it. A little. The other 44 no.
But his fans think it is the right thing. It is part of a 250 year list titled," what is not presidential."

Occasionally, I will see one of this political sites refer to something new that does catch my interest. I admit that I will go there long enough just to see if there is a source link so I can get new without being told how to think about it. I try to keep that to a minimum, and only if there is no other neutral link, lest I support there site too much. Yellow journalism has made a resurgence on the internet because it makes money.
