Accidentally looked at porn

#1

So I was watching a cartoon on YouTube and all of a sudden porn comes up and I try to fast forward the video so I can close it. But when I was quickly doing that I didnt look away. Would I be responsible for a mortal sin?

You cannot accidentally commit a sin. Be at peace.

#3

Really? Even though I was still kinda looking at it but I was trying to fast forward?

#4

You can’t accidentally commit a mortal sin.

You cannot accidentally commit a mortal sin.

#6

Did you intend to look at porn anytime in this process? Did you seek it out?

If not, you are fine.

#7

As far as I know, Youtube doesn’t advertise pornography.

#8

If a porn scene came up when you’re watching an innocent cartoon please report it so children would not watch it. A whole bunch of perverts like to insert porn into innocent videos for kids to see.

You cannot accidentally commit a mortal sin :grinning:

#10

It’s an inevitable part of the internet. I was doing a school project on calcium carbonate and googling that managed to bring up porn :astonished:

#11

You cannot sin accidentally. If you are scrupulous, please see a priest and psychologist. This is a disorder which causes you to worry in excess about the sinfulness of minor things, and your posting history suggests you may have it. God Bless!

#12

Wow.

As for my own story, I was Googling something from The Princess Bride to see if there was any historical inspiration for something in the movie or if it was completely made up. It brought up porn. :unamused:

#13

God said pluck out your eyes, not literally, but you get the message, watching something you shouldnt anyway.

#14

Ok, but how does this relate to the topic?

#15

I didn’t think that youtube allowed porn on their platform.

But if accidentally clicked on an ad for smut, I guess it would come up. But everyone’s ads are based upon their own usage. If you buy a lot of clothes online, those are the ads you’ll see, example given.

Is someone else, like a teenager or someone with prurient interests, have access to your computer?

#17

Why did you fast forward instead of simply closing the entire window? Is YouTube now on VHS? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

#18

Some of them get pretty random though. I get a few that don’t even have my gender right. Like the “hot girls in your area!” mess. I have also managed to get ads for certain stuff while attempting to shop for shoes.

#19

I’d like to be able to do this on Youtube. Could you tell us how you managed it?

Edit: Don’t worry. Mr. Google helped out.

What you describe doesn’t sound like a mortal sin to me but it’s a good idea to report it to YouTube.
