ACLU/SC Protects The Rights Of Those Who Feed The Poor

*ORANGE, Calif. --The American Civil Liberties Union of Southern California has filed suit in U.S. District Court against the California Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR) to protect the free-speech and religion rights of those who feed the poor.

The suit seeks to overturn an unconstitutionally broad state law that allowed park rangers to interfere with an open-air feeding at Doheny State Park in early February organized by Welcome INN (Interfaith Needs Network), an interfaith religious group.* full story:

What most people like to forget or ignore about the ACLU is that they stand up for everyone’s rights - your’s included.

Very rarely are they on the right side, and that’s only when the publicity will serve them better. The ACLU is a despicable organization, that hates Christians.

Agreed. They have their roots in Marxist Communism.

You know what they say about broken clocks and being right twice a day.

Of course, they are always right when they stand up for your rights. But they keep standing up for the rights of people we don’t like, too. Why can’t they just defend the rights of good people?

They are all for supporting the rights of those lucky enough to escape the womb.

Because the best way to protect the “good people” is to protect the rights of ALL people. The same law that protects my right to discuss my faith protects the right of the athiest to discuss his/her non-belief. The same law that protects my right to stand on a streetcorner and say that Catholicism is the one true faith protects the right of someone else to stand on the opposite corner and call the Church the Whore of Babylon.

They are selctive on what rights they protect. For instance they have NEVER got involved in lawsuits designed to protect the rights of Parents who want to home scholl their Children. When Cogress pushed through the Clinic protection act-a law that limited the freedom to protest at Abortion clinics, they stood mutely on the sidelines. When a Federal Judge applied that law to proestors at the WTO conference in Seatlle they suddenly decided it was a bad law.

If you go to their web site you will see that they list as one of their most important goals the keeping of laws allowing women to kill their unborn children.

Of course they are-they only take on the fights they have a shot at winning.
