Act of contrition

I just realised the priest did not prompt me for an act of contrition although He could see I was VERY contrite! He gave me absolution but I forgot to say it then aswell (was in a state). Is my confession valid? Do I need to mention this next confession?

Not to worry. God knows your heart and saw your sincere sorrow.
You received absolution, your sins are forgiven, confession is valid.

Agreed, the formal act of contrition is not a necessary condition for validity.

Thanks all:thumbsup:
