Acts of Paul and Thecla

My Early Christianity history class is set to discuss The Acts of Paul and Thecla soon and the professor seems to be hinting that Thecla received apostolic authority. Is anyone familiar with a good explanation of this text, and more specifically, with the claim that Thecla had apostolic authority?

Thanks, and God Bless.

In its article on the “Apocrypha,” the Catholic Encyclopedia has a section on the Acts of Paul and the Acts of Paul and Thecla.
