**An exhibition to die for—literally

**LONDON. The German artist Gregor Schneider is planning the ultimate performance piece: showing a person dying as part of an exhibition

“I want to display a person dying naturally in the piece or somebody who has just died,” he told The Art Newspaper. “My aim is to show the beauty of death.”

The artist says that Dr Roswitha Franziska Vandieken, who runs her own private clinic in Düsseldorf, has agreed to help find volunteers who are willing to die in public in the name of art. Dr Vandieken was unavailable for comment. “I am confident that we’ll find people to take part,” says Schneider.

Is this sick or what? I don’t doubt that they’ll find volunteers for the “performance” and critics to hail it as pioneering.
What’s next, performance suicide?

Everything has to be extreme! We have to “out-do” the last things we did. How can we shock people now, now that they are used to the other shocking things that are not so shocking now???

What a death centered society we live in now. I see the good in things too but this is way over the line… like that other so called art student painting with blood from her own self aborted babies. (I know they said it was a hoax but when the uproar came they probably made her recant and say it was a hoax to get out of a bad publicity thing)

I wish there would be a common sense revolution!!

That would be a good movement.
