An insightful thought from St Jean Marie Vianney

Yesterday I read a book about this saint and he said something interesting about sin. He said that once we fall we are tempted to repeat that sin again, thinking that it’s the same if we do it one or ten times, that it will be as easy to say in confession I have sinned ten times as to say I have sinned one time. He added that this reasoning is the same as a child saying to his father: I will give you ten slaps but it will hurt me as if I would have been giving you just one.

This really got me thinking…

There’s some wisdom in there, thanks. :o
