Good grief, Rose! Where does it say how Matthew or Luke found this out? For crimes sake, I know what is written. Stop sending me verses I already know of. Please show me the verse where Mary told ANYONE about her encounter with Gabriel. That’s all I want you to show me. NOTHING else.Thanks again!

Right so this is what Matthew says in his Gospel, right after listing the genealogy of Jesus
“”This is how Jesus Christ came to be born. His mother Mary was betrothed to Joseph; but before they came to live together she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.””
Now this is what Luke writes
In the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent by God to a town in Galilee called Nazareth,
1:27 to a virgin betrothed to a man named Joseph, of the House of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
1:28 He went in and said to her, 'Rejoice, you who enjoy God’s favour! The Lord is with you.'
1:29 She was deeply disturbed by these words and asked herself what this greeting could mean,
1:30 but the angel said to her, 'Mary, do not be afraid; you have won God’s favour.
1:31 Look! You are to conceive in your womb and bear a son, and you must name him Jesus.
1:32 He will be great and will be called Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his ancestor David;
1:33 he will rule over the House of Jacob for ever and his reign will have no end.'
1:34 Mary said to the angel, 'But how can this come about, since I have no knowledge of man?'
1:35 The angel answered, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will cover you with its shadow. And so the child will be holy and will be called Son of God.
After Luke has explained where he gets his information
Seeing that many others have undertaken to draw up accounts of the events that have reached their fulfilment among us,
1:2 as these were handed down to us by those who from the outset were eyewitnesses and ministers of the word,
1:3 I in my turn, after carefully going over the whole story from the beginning, have decided to write an ordered account for you, Theophilus,
1:4 so that your Excellency may learn how well founded the teaching is that you have received.
