Signer of Letter to Attorney General is Catholic Priest
On September 24, language was submitted to California’s attorney general Jerry Brown that would nullify Proposition 8, passed in the November, 2008 election.
This was the fourth version of an anti-Prop 8 initiative filed for the 2010 election.
This fourth version would delete the Prop 8 language from the state constitution that says “Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California.”
Instead the section of the constitution would read, “Marriage is between only two persons and shall not be restricted on the basis of race, color, creed, ancestry, national origin, sex, gender, sexual orientation, or religion.”
