Another quitting smoking prayer

#1

I’ve been trying to give up smoking for Lent. This has been very, very hard for me - I’m very routine-oriented (not quite OCD, but sometimes approach it), I was the type of kid that sucked my fingers and always had something in my mouth, and I hate being angry more than anything. Quitting, even with nicotine replacement, makes me angry and mean. I try my best, but dear, dear husband can still tell. I get so angry at him - even when I know, intellectually, that he is being as sweet as anything!
I’m picking up a Wellbutrin prescription Monday to see if that will help. Please pray for me! This is a major thing that I want to give up, but I don’t want to keep being so mean. I started again tonight because Dh and I agreed that this was hurting his feelings and mine.

I ask the Lord to help you overcome this addiction. :slight_smile:

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth, as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen
