Hi all… I read a lot of older material, esp. British ghost stories. Many of these authors were very scholarly men (One was a provost @ Eton College, one was the son of a former ArchBishop of Canterbury… just a couple of examples!) who had a habit of throwing some latin at the reader, occasionally without translations.
Now it’s been many years since I was in school, and much of my (admittedly rudimentary) knowledge of latin has faded with the years. I do okay on a brief phrase, but something longer usually brings me to a dead standstill. I’m not talking about pages or even long paragraphs, just some things that are longer than a basic phrase. Anyone out there willing to help me out on occasion? Thanks!
