Archdiocese of Boston Urges Prayers after Marathon Explosions

As reports came out of death and injuries at the Boston Marathon, the Boston archdiocese asks for eternal rest for those killed and for prayers for the victims.

From the link you posted, here are some things said:

“As reports of death and injuries are reported, we ask you to please turn to the Lord each time to pray for them and for those who love them that they would receive the consolation of the Holy Spirit, the mercy of God, and the loving maternal embrace of our Blessed Mother,” the archdiocese asked via Facebook and Twitter April 15.

Lord, have mercy on us and on the whole world~

Are they also directing people to ways to provide immediate relief for the victims?

As we pray for all those affected by yesterday’s violence we ask for a gift of understanding and counsel and pray especially for the children. We pray also in thanksgiving for those who were of service to those wounded today.

May the Heavenly Father be upon the victims of this tragedy. We ask this through Christ Our Lord, Amen.
