Are Christians behind LGBT violence

Are Christians world-wide behind this claimed violence against Lesbians, Gays, Bisexuals and Transgendered? My specific concern in this post is the claimed violence against LGBT in the Huffington Post news clip-- see link above.

If this claimed violence is true, it should not be happening. I would see the physical violence as a breaking of the commandment against murder. Christians have no justification to harm LGBT in the same way we have no justification for physical violence against fornicators.

This post is not about the morality of LGBT but about the claimed violence (see link) against individuals with their own intrinsic self-worth and dignity.

I don’t think that violence of any type is right. Why should there be any violence against LGBT. I have heard of gay bashing such as straight people going to gay bars to pickup someone, take them to a lonely spot where their friends wait for them and then bash up the gay person. This is stupid. I do not believe in the activities of gay people but I do not need to bash them up.

Did you go to the link and watch the news clip? Do you know whether or not the reported violence in this Huffington news clip is actually happening or is it something exaggerated or non-existent. I am truly asking a question and not just speculating. Are your able to verify this news reporting accuracy of this short news report?

I hope not. But Christianity is certainly helping to stir the pot, making these marginal people or groups see LGBT people as less than a Christian or a flawed human. Hate and homophobia are ugly motivators.

I can’t comment on the facts of the particular case you are referring to but I will say that i was watching the news last week and the way a particular Christian Group was attacking gay people made me sick! it’s instances like these that creates stereotyping for Christians of all denominations and puts us all in a poor light despite it being only a select few doing the bidding.

I wouldn’t bother with anything on “Huffington Post;” the same site where a “reporter” decided to make a porno so she could write about it.

I was just going to post this same comment. The Huffington Post is anything but credible

The clip is broad brushing, and provides no details.

Pretty much anybody who believes in traditional marriage will be labeled “anti-gay”. The bucket of “anti-gay” people in the minds of many on the left will equate the Catholic Church with the Westboro Baptist Church with those who killed Matthew Shepard with those who beat homosexuals in Russia or Nigeria, etc.

The only way to say a “Christian” is behind violence is to find out if they did their violence in the name of their faith. For example, if an Islamist blows up a bus full of Jews in Israel and says “Allahu Akbar” prior to doing so, would be classified as a person whose religious beliefs were behind their actions. However, if a Muslim man, in a fit of rage kills a person who cut them off in traffic, his religious beliefs had nothing to do with the crime.

So the question is: Did a Christian’s actual beliefs drive them to do violence, OR, did they do violence and they happen to be Christian?

thanks for your responses. now i now how to respond to news the Huffington Post. I was suspicious when they did not offer an opposing point of view, or a Christian point of view that said, “Not all Christians are violent and neither does Christianity advocate violence.”

For Holy Week 2014, I am abstaining from most of the internet. The OP

That is homosexual propaganda. Why assault and battery, homicides happen only the victim and their killer(s) know. But homosexual groups thinks harassment, sex abuse, stalking and child molestation are OK when it’s homosexual/lesbian. GLSEN predictably supports Milk day. Harvey Bernard Milk or HB. Milk is GLSEN’s most famous victim-killed in 1978. HB. Milk sexually abused a 16 year old boy in 1964. Huffington Post sees no wrong with HB Milk committing molestation on a 16 year old boy but talk of him being a gay bashing victim.

GLSEN, most gay groups and Huffington Post are apologists for sex changes and transexuality-transexuals are the mutilated homosexuals and lesbians-abolish this. If a person has a drug/alcohol problem, the right thing to do is treat this. There is something wrong with a man thinking he is a woman or a woman thinking she is a man. It is mutilation with dangerous hormones. Most transexuals were sexually abused in childhood which messed up their minds and transexuals are more likely to commit sex abuse. I’m against sex changes for same reason as oppose trying to make a White person Black or viceversa because they think theyre another race, it doesn’t take an expert to know that hormone shots + the maiming surgery damages body. If they knew how to change skin color, they would be making justifications for changing color of people who think they are of other race as they now do for sex changes. Transexuals have antisocial personalities because the hormone shots and hormone pills o damage mind. The lifetime of hormone shots and pills are linked to cancer.

1 would hope that feminists would oppose the mutilation, yet most feminists are not condemning genital and breast mutilation as what happened to Chastity where her healthy breasts were mutilated, dangerous hormone shots and genitals mutilated. Those denying link between childhood sex abuse and adult gay/lesbian behaviors, transexuality are usually gay, lesbian or a sympathizer. But any behavior including sexual can be learned. Sex abuse in youth can cause people to behave in ways. It’s not controversial to talk of nightmares, suicides, bedwetting often a result of sex abuse in youth. Yet when 1 talks gay/lesbian behaviors and transexuality in adulthood because they learned this sexual behavior by being repeatedly molested, then gays with politically safe psychologists complain. The politically correct psychologists who deny this know it’s possible for a boy to turn out gay as a result of childhood sex abuse, yet deny what they know is true. Of course, not all who are sexually abused in youth become gay in adulthood-but the risk is higher. Many transexual gays and lesbians who commit suicide do so because they often were childhood sex abuse victims and have other copathologies such as antisocial conduct, drugs, etc. Homosexual groups will use the mantra societal attitudes but it’s more complicated. People who have suffered sex abuse (which many transexual gays and lesbians have) in youth often have problems in adulthood and this includes suicides. GLSEN, Huffington Post are apologists for childhood sex abuse when it’s homosexual/lesbian with their apologism for HB. Milk and they are apologists for sex changes.

I read** Book of Matt by S. Jimenez **about Matthew Wayne Shepard a/k/a Matt which I’ll use. The book discloses ugly truths of the victim-most of it old such as his drug problems, but new information is that the victim was a drug dealer. Stephen Jimenez who is homosexual interviewed over 100 witnesses and found ugly truths. Stephen Jimenez wrote ugly truths including in Shepard’s family. There’s alot in the book but if you read the Book of Matt, you know that S. Jimenez mentioned

-Matt was a victim of child molestation and when Matt was 15 years old, he was arrested for molesting 2 neighborhood 8 year old boys-Matt got counseling for it. This was incidentally mentioned by S. Jimenez near the end. Matt had been molested by 3 different people including a distant relative and minister. If he had not been a victim of molestations, it’s possible he would have turned out straight instead of gay. Any conduct can be learned including sexual conduct and Matt suffering child molestation damaged his thinking and possibly caused him to behave sexually in ways he would not have had the molestation not happened.

-Matt knew his killer Aaron J. McKinney and there are witnesses who saw both together numerous times almost a year before he was killed. It’s not believed the 2nd man Russel A. Henderson knew Matt. ** Matt had a secret life as a drug courier/dealer**-main reason GLSEN and homosexual groups are offended by Stephen Jimenez’s book is because he talked ugly truths about Shepard. The weak criticism is that Stephen Jimenez interviewed drug dealers, junkies, and he went into bars where drugs were sold to learn about Matt being a drug dealer.

That is a weak criticism because that is who Stephen Jimenez would have to interview to learn this. Matt’s drug problems is old news as he had told his friend Tina LaBrie about his drugs and his lover Tristan (Ted) Henson admits that Matt used drugs and that he knew 1 of his killers. Matt being a drug dealer was something he likely kept secret from his friends and family because if a person is selling drugs, they usually don’t tell their friends and family about this. You don’t always know the secrets friends and family have. Even if he did tell his friends and family that he sold drugs, don’t think they will admit this, as they (along with Mainstraem media) had tried to hide the fact that Matt molested 8 year old boys when Matt was 15 years old and got counseling for it. Matt should not have been killed, but I’m not doing a vigil for a drug dealer and child molester. GLSEN and Huffington Post sees nothing wrong with child molestation when it is done by homosexuals and transexuals. Huffington Post is apologist for transexuality so Huffington Post’s views are wrong.

I believe in traditional marriage and I’ve never been labelled anti-gay, even by people who campaigned against Prop. 8.

Can you please stop making massive posts chock full of half truths, lies and other forms of falsehoods especially when they are basically copy and paste?

Jimenez has some pretty dubious sources and some rather shoddy writing.

I don’t care what Sheppard did or did not do in his life and I’m not interested in books about him that clearly promote an agenda that somehow seeks to lessen the import of what was done to him.

The fact remains that being string on a barbed wire fence miles from nowhere and pistol whipped and left to die was, is and always will be a crime against everything that is good.

I don’t care if he propositioned the perpetrators. ‘Gay panic’ is not now and never will be a defence for murder.

I don’t care if at any previous stage in his life he lost his way and did things that others would consider wrong. Being dragged from a bar where he was not committing any crime is not an excuse for crucifying him on a prairie fence.

I cannot believe that people consider it acceptable to spread conjecture, hearsay and refer to tragedies in Sheppard’s early childhood in some sort of attempt to weaken the condemnation or somehow make his murder ‘less’ of a murder. Such people sicken me.

Perhaps because you don’t own Chick-fil-a, or tried to be named CEO at Mozilla.

DexUK, I did not excuse Matt being killed but the ugly truth of Matt being a child molester of 8 year old boys and drug dealer or courier must be said. Getting killed by 2 men in 1998 does not change the ugly truth. If defense raises a crime the gay (or transexual the mutilated gays who are more likely to commit child molestation) did such as indecent exposure, assault and battery, stalking, molestation etc. before the gay was bashed, then that must be regarded in deciding verdict. After hearing both prosecution & defense-jury decides if gay basher used reasonable or excess force. If it’s reasonable, then you acquit and if it’s excess, then what degree. For eg., if a 34 year old homosexual exposes himself to a 14 year old boy after which the 14 year old boy reacts by bashing him, the fact the homosexual committed indecent exposure crime and possibly attempted molestation (adults have no business having sex either straight or homosexual with minors), then must be regarded in deciding verdict. Gay groups call it ‘panic and proposition’ but those are mild words for indecent exposure & child molestation committed by homosexuals. If somebody is stealing from your store, then you have a right to use reasonable force (not excess) to stop the thief-to call it ‘panic and taking’ would be mild word for stealing. So if a gay commits indecent exposure, stalking, molestation, etc. then man has a right to use reasonable force to stop this. Most men and boys who are victims usu. won’t call cops to report that a gay is committing indecent exposure, harassment, stalking and molestation until some1 reacts violently and bashes the gay. George Michael of Wham! was arrested and convicted in British courts for having sex in public restrooms.

But back to Book of Matt. No, Metthew Wayne Shepard (aka Matt) should not have been killed, but** I’m not going to do a candlelight vigil for a child molester and drug dealer**. The people offended by Stephen Jimenez’s book are homosexual groups who have no rebuttal. If Stephen Jimenez had been an FRC journalist, he would likely have been condemned as 1 of those Christians but Stephen Jimenez is a gay journalist. Stephen Jimenez did a 13 year investigation over 100 witnesses and he found ugly truths. **Stephen Jimenez incidentally mentioned @ end of book that Matt molested 8 year old boys in his neighborhood when he was 15 years old and got counseling for it-Stephen Jimenez interviewed a relative of 1 of the boys who Matt molested. ** As far as questionable sources-drug dealers, junkies, and that he went into bars where drugs were sold, to learn about Matt being a drug dealer -These witnesses earn nothing saying this so they are credible and have no reason to lie. Stephen Jimenez’s evidence are 1st party witnesses he interviewed-over 100 of them over 13 years. Those witnesses verified Matt’s drugs (old news), drug dealer and courier. There are bartenders who saw both Aaron J McKinney and Matt together, so this is verified information. Matt took antidepressants which were not working and he mixed drugs-cocaine, Ecstasy and Meth with antidepressants. Matt had depression, PTSD and he mixed drugs with antidepressants. This is old news. Why could Matt have gotten involved in dealing drugs & or be a courier- problems-he bought them and when he had problems, he sold them & or was a courier-this is verified by witnesses who Stephen Jimenez interviewed. These witnesses are credible as they earn nothing saying this. Stephen Jimenez verified that Matt would use Doc O’Connor’s limousine services and was living an extravagant life. Matt had money problems with his drugs would likely sell some in order to make money.

With Stephen Jimenez writing a book to make money. Judy L. Shepard earns anywhere from $5,000 to $20,000 per speech. Judy L. Shepard’s interest is to profit from her son’s 1998 killing and push an agenda. Even after ugly truths are disclosed about Matt being a drug dealer (main part of S. Jimenez’s book) and a child molester of 2 neighborhood 8 year old boys, some people still give sympathy to him. No, Matt should not have been killed, but I’m not going to do a candlelight vigil for a child molester. It is gay groups, who have been pushing hero worship of him when he does not deserve hero worship. And while gay/lesbian groups say they are offended because Stephen Jimenez says the murder case is complicated, that is minor. Main reason gay groups are offended by Stephen Jimenez’s book is because he told the ugly truths about who the victim was. Finally, we know about the 2 cases reported but it would not surprise me if other 8 year old boys had been molested by Matt only that it went unreported.

Mainstream psychology/medicine is not to be trusted on gay/lesbian topic and too many accept what is said w/o challenging or having doubts. You can pay experts to say things which agree with gay/lesbian agenda and that has happened since 1973. Huffington Post, GLSEN is an apologist for harassment, stalking, child molestation etc. when it’s homosexual/lesbian. Homofobia is telling truths, theories and speculations which offend homosexual groups. But thoughts.** Proposing (straightorgay) in your house, singles bar or @ a private party is in most cases legal. The right thing to do is say no and leave, but repeatedly proposing & stalking after 1 has said no is criminal harassment. & public restroom is to use toilet and wash up not proopose as it’s not a house or a bar-it’s illegal to propose and have sex in public restroom as happened to George Michael of Wham! because kids use the bathroom. Huffington Post and GLSEN thinks it’s OK for homosexuals/lesbians to have sex in public restrooms. **

If people want to have sex (straight or homosexual) then go home and do it with other willing adults, not in public restrooms. Lawrence Fobes King did George Michael abuse in public restrooms. Transexuals are more likely to molest children as many transexuals were molested. We know what was reported about Lawrence Fobes King exposing himself and harassing others but it would not surprise me if Lawrence Fobes King molested children only that it went unreported as most do.
