So what if somehow CAF makes a bit of money. Do you begrudge them that? I don’t know why the ads are problematic either. Scroll past them and don’t read them. Easy.
I really don’t think it is all about money. If there is a specific thing you posted that you’re concerned others will stumble on, I’m sure you can PM the mods and discuss that. But ultimately what drives these forums is conversation, and if everyone wants to withdraw what they said, it begins to look like swiss cheese.
I don’t think you should worry about it too much @RCIAGraduateAlt2 but maybe PM the mods just to let them know which account you’re using now. CAF has that rule primarily because unfortunately some users will get banned and then try to come back to cause more trouble. If you lost your login details (or couldn’t get back in to your account, like some folk couldn’t when the forum switched over to discourse), I can’t imagine the mods would have a problem with it.
The issue is not the money making. The issue is when that becomes a priority over respecting one’s requests and data they don’t want on the internet for whatever reason.
Maybe I am, but can’t I state a fact that the number was high? I think it was 2000 posts, you judge whether that’s flattering or what, it doesn’t really matter. It isn’t about my old account, it is about anyone who wants to remove their data, and some people are not happy with that. In principle I don’t think it’s right that they refuse fellow Catholics on no other grounds than it helps their business model. That is the point.
Have you messaged the mods and asked them to delete your posts? What did they say? I think they will delete a post/thread on a individual basis if it is of a sensitive nature or something, but yeah they probably won’t delete everything. Try speaking to them anyway.
Because it’s posted by other users who can decide wether they want delete their own reply?
CAF has billions of threads with questions and informations which could be helpful to other users. Deleting part of thread could be messy for reader.
Why delete? Why not be careful what we post on internet so we don’t have to worry about delete.

I’ve looked for other forums and found nothing better. I mostly lurk here for the news from time to time, but I used to post (came back to help a fellow Catholic in need ) . . . .
Sorry, but this seems odd to me. The new format has been in place for some time now, and this just became a concern for Dyou? Seems like there’s something here that we’re missing.
