Are we supposed to hold hands during the Our Father?

A while back I believe I read something in one of Karl’s newsletters about holding hands while saying the Our Father during mass. As I remember, Karl discouraged the practice. I converted to Roman Catholicism in 1987 and remember seeing people at mass doing this back then. My family and I have always said the Our Father in this fashion. I always thought that this was something the Church encouraged. Was I mistaken? Is this something that was cooked up by liberals within the Church that has no basis in fact?

These links should explain the use of the orans position during the Mass. If you have any further questions or concerns that are not answered by these links, please contact Catholic Answers directly.
