Army chief says Pakistan will respond if Saudi Arabia faces danger

RAWALPINDI – Pakistan will befittingly respond if Saudi Arabia’s territorial integrity is in danger, Chief of Army Staff General Raheel Sharif told Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Minister for Defence Muhammad bin Salman on Sunday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations, the Saudi defence minister met General Sharif here at the General Headquarters. The two discussed matter of mutual interest, including regional security situation.

The army chief said that Pakistan enjoys excellent relations with Saudi Arabia, adding that safety of the Gulf States is of immense importance for Pakistan. On his part, the Saudi minister said Saudi Arabia highly regards the armed forces of Pakistan.

This is a message to Iran. Saudi Arabia paid for Pakistan’s nukes.

This is important and I’ve heard speculation that should Iran really become an area “nuclear” threat, that Pakistan would indeed back Saudi Arabia and perhaps even allow Saudi Arabia something out of Pakistan’s nuclear arsenal.

definitely a message to Iran.
