Article: The Rosary; Where It Came From, What It Does, Why Some People Love It

Archbishop Fulton Sheen said, “The rosary is the book of the blind, where souls see and there enact the greatest drama of love the world has ever known; it is the book of the simple, which initiates them into mysteries and knowledge more satisfying than the education of other men; it is the book of the aged, whose eyes close upon the shadow of this world, and open on the substance of the next. The power of the rosary is beyond description.” (from EWTN)

Great article. Thanks for sharing.

The rosary is a powerful prayer, indeed.

I just ordered a copy of “Champions of the Rosary: The History and Heroes of a Spritual Weapon”. I live in Mexico, so it could be a very long wait till it comes in.

I also suggest “The Secret of The Rosary” by St. Louis de Montfort. I just finished reading it and it has really increased my devotion to the Rosary.

In May when I attended Mass at the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima in New York, the priest giving the homily described the Rosary as our “Cell Phone to Heaven”. I liked that description.

I read that great book! It helps me appreciate the rosary even more.
