Description: In “Because They Hate,” Brigitte Gabriel argues that the U.S. is facing total destruction at the hands of Muslims. The author, a Christian survivor of the civil war between Lebanese Christians and Muslims in the 1970s, draws on her own experiences to support both the profiling of Muslims and the ban of what she calls “hate education” in Islamic institutions.

They may hate us (Christians) and persecute us but they cannot win.

Yesterday I was listening to an audio tape about St Maximilian Kolbe. The prison guards & SS officers treated him horrendously, even more than other Catholic priests, even more that their Jewish prisoners.

The reason they did so was because he looked at them with love and they could not dim his joy and peace. It spooked them.

Fighting back, retaliating, will not conquer Muslims. Turning the other cheek, accepting persecution, yet loving them for Jesus’ sake will.

Forgive them. Love them. Pray for their conversion. That is what will disarm them.

Remember that hate is nothing in itself. It is only an absence of love, as evil is an absence of good.

As G.K. Chesterton said: “The Christian ideal has not been tried and found wanting; it has been found difficult and left untried.”

Turn the other cheek if you want, and that’s fine with me. What DOES bother me is the number of people that refuse to come to terms with what Islam really teaches. Jesus said love your enemy, but we’re also supposed to KNOW our enemy.

How true, think of the early church in Rome. Christians were greatly persecuted, slaughtered, in such horrendous ways, that it is hard to imagine this day and age. Just before the empire’s conversion in 325 AD, 25 years ealier, the church went through it’s worst persecution, where they would impale Christians on poles, set them on fire and use them for night torches. Yet, it was their love that the romans could not extinguish, and look at the wonderful way God works. God is the one who will win and convert hearts, not our weapons and force, and with love and prayer will there be victory for the glory of God.
