My mom has been diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease for about six months now. It’s a tough situation and I really pray for her. I’d like to do a novena for her. I was thinking of St. Peregrin, the saint of cancer and AIDS sufferers, etc. Would that be the best saint?
Also, I’ve found several sources for novenas for Peregrin but since I’m a bit new to novenas, I was wondering, is a rosary required for novenas? Do we just say the prayer for nine days sincerely or do we pray the novena prayer AND say a rosary with it? My wife from the Philippines claims a rosary is always a part of any novena. I never see any reference to the rosary on these novenas?
I’d like everyone’s input. My mom, Sally, is really in need of prayer. She has strong tremors in her leg, foot, arm, and she’s had two knee replacements as well as rotator cuff surgery, all in the last four years. Add to that the Parkinson’s and she has had a full plate of suffering. I wish a miracle from Christ could come.
I’d love your input! God bless!
