Bible verses that mirror Jesus's marriage to the Church

#1

What are the bible verses that show Jesus’s marriage with the Church(bride, or us). Help me out, thank you.

It’s a figure of speech.
The Bride of Christ means, that as a good husband, the Lord loves His bride (the Church) and would never abandon her.

18John’s disciples and the Pharisees were fasting; and they came and said to Him, “Why do John’s disciples and the disciples of the Pharisees fast, but Your disciples do not fast?” 19And Jesus said to them, "While the bridegroom is with them, the attendants of the bridegroom cannot fast, can they? So long as they have the bridegroom with them, they cannot fast. 20"But the days will come when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast in that day.

is the first one that comes to mind.

I heard an author interview a while back ago that sounded really fascinating, although I haven’t read it myself.

Jesus the Bridegroom: The Greatest Love Story Ever Told” by Dr. Brant Pitre (ISBN 978-0770435455) came out about a year ago and sounds like it would really get down into the nuts and bolts of someone who wanted to draw the parallels you seem to be wanting to investigate.

21 Be subject to one another out of reverence for Christ. 22 Wives, be subject to your husbands, as to the Lord. 23 For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. 24 As the church is subject to Christ, so let wives also be subject in everything to their husbands. 25 Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her, 26 that he might sanctify her, having cleansed her by the washing of water with the word, 27 that he might present the church to himself in splendor, without spot or wrinkle or any such thing, that she might be holy and without blemish. 28 Even so husbands should love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 For no man ever hates his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, as Christ does the church, 30 because we are members of his body. 31 “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh.” 32 This is a great mystery, and I mean in reference to Christ and the church; 33 however, let each one of you love his wife as himself, and let the wife see that she respects her husband.

Here’s Revelation for reference:

19:7 Let us rejoice and exult and give him the glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and his Bride has made herself ready;

8 it was granted her to clothe herself with fine linen, bright and pure" – for the fine linen is the righteous deeds of the saints.

9 And the angel said { Greek b he said b } to me, "Write this: Blessed are those who are invited to the marriage supper of the Lamb. " And he said to me, "These are the true words of God. "

21:2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
