They said the same thing about Cigarettes...until the public got the truth that cigarettes killed not only the smoker but innocent bystanders...and costs society a fortune in medical expenses.
If marriage and family are destroyed...so will the culture and this society...the issue is not about religious or moral beliefs...its about the common good and our culture/society.
Just like then First Lady Hillary Clinton got it profoundly wrong in her book: It takes a Village...stating that it takes a village to raise a child...even though it sounds so profound, loving and winning...its a deadly mistake...the way she purports it...coupled with gay marriage, abortion on demand...and the hook-up culture...fatherless America...it is deadly wrong.
The simple truth of all mankind and all history: It takes a man and woman in marriage having and rasing children...to make a village...a nation...a sustainable society and a sustainable culture. If you don't believe it...just ask a Roman!
We can either accept God's definition of good and evil...or eat the apple and try to do it our-self...and we know what that got us the last time around....
Yes, of course, such issues do go to cultural survival. But... if the populace cared about cultural survival, there would have been widespread objection to the acceptance of artificial contraception and no-fault divorce, which have already moved the process of cultural decline pretty far along.
