May he rest in peace.

I have never heard of this gentleman. Thanks for enlightening. May God bless his soul.

#4 good riddance

Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord and may perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. Amen.

We ought to love our enemies. We should not condone any evil actions they committed but rather condemn them. Nevertheless, we should still love them and I honestly believe we should pray for the repose of their souls as well since there is no other way for us to love them here on earth. One could offer a Mass for a deceased person but the Mass is also a prayer. It is an extremely powerful prayer though.

"You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. For if you love those who love you, what reward have you? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? And if you salute only your brethren, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
(Matthew 5:43-48 RSV-CE)

Nothing is quite black or white. He may not have been the most upstanding Catholic but here is something that may partially redeem him in your I myself tend to not be a huge fan of the elite and plutocrats. But life is really short compared to eternity, and here’s one of the world’s most powerful man having to face God one on one to give an account of his life/choices. I want mercy for myself, I pray God’s mercy for this man.

I think it is interesting to note here how one of the movers and shakers of the world was so committed to what may considered to be left wing causes.

When all the left are focused in on the Koch Brothers and the insidious weight of right wing money, Paul Desmarais, may be rest in peace, reminds us of how much more weight is delivered by the wealthiest capitalists to the causes that are cherished by the left.
