What may seem ‘obvious’ to you, can be viewed very differently by another.
In an age of literally a billion points of view, the act serves to achieve little positive - over the amount it could do to the negative.
Antagonising the public is a lot more easily done than people might imagine. Which is why the police remove such people. Disturbing the peace, can be as simple as an unwelcome practise - in a place where it serves no real purpose.
I think the response you received, suggesting ‘why’ that is the case (from the perspective of a priest) says volumes in support of that.
