The Parisian Georges Bernanos (1888-1948) is one of the last century’s greatest Catholic novelists, and this is probably his most admired book, “The Diary of A Country Priest.” Reading selections here:

It’s been called a “difficult read” but like most transcendent works of art I think you will find it is something you will grow into – and that growth will stimulate your faith. These are my reading selections and as I went through them again, I found some of the things written there truly astonishing – considering the book was published in 1936, it speaks to our times in uncompromising fashion.
