BOOKS: Heart Of Darkness, John Conrad

Anyone hear remember that book, I read it in high school. I recently was reminded of it. I remember the important differences pointed out. If I remember correctly, the father, a protestant missionary was killed by natives who thought he wanted to sacrifice their children to crocodiles. The mother and her children ( except the youngest, killed by a snake ) were taken in by an older catholic couple. By no means do I intend this to bash anyone, but it is an interesting story, with some truths in it.

Heart of Darkness is by Joseph Conrad, and it isn’t about a missionary family taken in by Catholics after the father of the family is killed. It’s about a company agent going into the Congo to find out what happened to Kurtz.

Sorry,
Then something else I read has the plot I described, can anyone identify?
