Books to deepen you in Christ

If you had $50 to spend at Amazon, what books would you buy to deepen yourself in faith and love for Christ?

Open question, please give me your recommendations.

The Practice of the Love of Jesus Christ by St Liguori

Divine Mercy in My Soul by St Faustina

Visits of the Blessed Sacrament by St Liguori

Story of a Soul by St Therese

Introduction to the Devout Life by St Francis de Sales
…which I personally haven’t read, but it’s been recommended to me…

Imitation of the Sacred Heart of Jesus…which is available online:

First, most importantly…spend as much time as you can before the Blessed Sacrament (Eucharistic Adoration if available)…and pray to him often and everywhere…meaning turn/lift up…your mind and your heart…everything on your mind and heart to his Sacred Heart…to him often…words are not as important.

****Second, I promise you that these first two will take you through his life…and give you great personal knowledge and insights into who Jesus is…not only in his divine nature but in his human nature…his humanity which is so very important to grasp to develop a real intimacy, love and friendship with him. These first two books will also greatly explain the situations surrounding his life on earth…and his Messianic mission…the situations which made things happen and made people act in certain ways towards/with him…without being too academic or without getting bogged down in cultural/1st Century Palestine minutia.

The third, book is a specific translation (there are many out there) of the Imitation of Christ…the late Msgr Ronald Knox is a one of a kind priest and scholar.

Each book is @ $12. I am excited about your desire (through the graces of the Holy Spirit) to know more intimately…Our Lord Jesus.
