You are born physically and you are born again when you are baptised.

Absolutely. And we pray the rest of the World becomes so too. (not bashing either)

Yup, when we are baptised in the Spirit through water when we are infants. It washes away the original sin we have, and re-makes us into children of God.

I’m a convert to the Catholic faith from evangelical “born again” Christianity. Catholics and evangelicals have a different understanding of what it means to be “born again.” Evangelicals generally equate “born again” with the experience of conversion–turning to Christ. In Catholic teaching, being born again is being spiritually regenerated by the grace of the Holy Spirit, which we receive in the sacrament of baptism (John 3:5, Mark 16:16, Acts 22:16, 1 Peter 3:21). Conversion isn’t just a one-time acceptance of Christ as Savior, but a life-long process of being conformed to the image of Christ by cooperating with grace given to us by God.

After our Lord’s teaching that it is necessary for salvation to be born from above by water and the Spirit (John 3:1–21), “Jesus and his disciples went into the land of Judea; there he remained with them and baptized” (John 3:22).

Are Catholics Born Again?

Yep, and “born from above” is a better translation of “born again”. Protestants from the “born again” wing of Protestantism rely on this doctrine from a bad translation.
