Bowling Green massacre

Sorry, couldn’t resist.

I know, that was pretty funny. This might be her best “alternative fact” yet.

Another take on newspeak
Trump aide Kellyanne Conway cites a massacre that never happened to defend travel ban

Of course facts don’t matter to some
However in doing so, she made a reference to two Iraqi refugees whom she described as the masterminds behind “the Bowling Green Massacre.”

"Most people don’t know that because it didn’t get covered (by the media)," Conway said.

The Bowling Green Massacre didn’t get covered because it didn’t happen. There has never been a terrorist attack in Bowling Green, Kentucky, carried out by Iraqi refugees or anyone else.

Kellyanne Conway is right. We did not cover the Bowling Green massacre – because it never happened

After a wave of criticism, Conway corrected herself on Friday, posting on Twitter that: “Honest mistakes abound.”

The phrase “Bowling Green massacre” was the top trending topic on Twitter on Friday as thousands of social media users mocked Conway.

Of course, if a democrat had a slip of the tongue, it would be overlooked by MSM and posters at CAF.

They have been in office less than a month. She is aware of the error she made and I am sure she will try not to do it again. If 6 months from now she is reporting incorrect information, then we need to worry.

I would agree with you on the “slip of the tongue” theory were it not for her demonstrated willingness to present “alternative facts” as truth.

Mind boggling. She lied. She made up an idea that is a complete fabricatio in order to justify a policy. Normally we expect some professionalism, We expect policies ot be informed by evidence. Normally, if policy is made by gut fee and justified by invented stories we object.

But some posters at CAF brush off lying. And hatch the novel idea that lies derive form inexperience.

What was the lie?

Most CAF posters seem to be fairly conservative from what I’ve seen. Personally, if a Democrat had made the same mistake, I would at the very least consider it extremely unprofessional. The problem with Conway is that she appears to be deliberately manipulative, as opposed to just choosing the wrong words.

Kelleyanne Conway said she meant to say “bowling green terorists”:

She was referring to this story:

The discovery in 2009 of two al Qaeda-Iraq terrorists living as refugees in Bowling Green, Kentucky – who later admitted in court that they’d attacked U.S. soldiers in Iraq – prompted the bureau to assign hundreds of specialists to an around-the-clock effort aimed at checking its archive of 100,000 improvised explosive devices collected in the war zones, known as IEDs, for other suspected terrorists’ fingerprints.

That there was a massacre, as opposed to a mere transfer of money and arms (still terrible, don’t get me wrong).

Where were you when the Bowling Green Massacre didn’t happen? Lemme see…IIRC I was here…

If the president had any integrity at all he’d fire this lousy excuse for a propagandist and try to focus on things that really did happen but hey what do you expect from the guy who has yet to recant his campaign assertion that he saw “Thousands and thousands of Muslims in New Jersey celebrating on 9/11” but like this Conway lie…it never happened, not that truth matters much to either one of them.
Fact-checking Trump’s claim that thousands in New Jersey cheered …
Trump’s outrageous claim that ‘thousands’ of New Jersey Muslims …

Where I come from we have a saying that “some people would rather climb a tree and tell a lie than stand on the ground and tell the truth.” Looks like this administration personifies that adage.

Thank you for posting this. (I am computer illiterate and don’t know how to post links
yet!)

Yeah. And she spoke about it with such gravity and confidence!

Really. What do you base this assertion on? Democrats have had slips of the tongue in the past and they were not over looked by MSM…and definitely not by posters at CAF.

His “Mistress of Propaganda” – as someone recently called her (who was it, again?)

There are a lot of “alternative facts” they are both due to recant. I’ve never heard him recant anything in his entire life, tho.

A serious character flaw?

Calling Conway his “mistress of propaganda” is beyond the pale. I guess the woman card only works if the woman is a liberal. A republican woman, as soon as she shows any misstep, is going to be defiled beyond recognition.

Well done! I truly see how your side respects the female gender.

You’re right: perhaps we should all aspire to be like Conway’s boss, who demonstrates reverence for women by - do I have this right? - “grabbing 'em by the p***y.”

You know what, keep repeating that line and relish the idea of destroying Trump by saying it, and pretty soon and probably already you’re committing the same sins in your head.

Enjoy that thought!

I’m confused. Should Kelly Conway use or not use the gender card?

It’s a feminized version of “Master of Propaganda”. Not that she’s his lover.
