‘Bush’ sewage plant proposal makes ballot
Measure would negatively commemorate president by renaming plant

SAN FRANCISCO - A measure seeking to commemorate President Bush’s years in office by slapping his name on a San Francisco sewage plant has qualified for the November ballot.

The measure certified Thursday would rename the Oceanside Water Pollution Control Plant the George W. Bush Sewage Plant.

Supporters say the idea is to commemorate the mess they claim Bush has left behind.

That’s hilarious.

San Francisco is an unusual place. :nope:

Maybe this sewage plant should be the location for their same-sex marriages. Since the city’s moral values have gone down the toilet, it would be a fitting place for the ceremonies.

Could be worse. Think George W. Bush federal penitentiary.

Wonder what we can commemorate with B. Hussein Obama’s name when he’s finished turning us into a Socialist Country (if he wins, naturally)?

And the “love” is continuing here :frowning:

I disagree with most of what the man does and stands for, but this is something that goes over the line. It demeans the office every bit as much as the man, and that’s something I view as a serious negative.

I agree with you 100%. But I don’t take San Fran too seriously since I know where they stand on a lot of issues. I wish someone would put it on the ballot to change the name of the city since St. Francis of Assisi’ name is being used by a city that is a cesspool of sin. I know there are decent citizens of the city, but I would be embarrassed to live there knowing that the city is famous for the hippies’ “The Summer of Love”, gay rights movement, and now the center of gay marriages.

Exactly. When people start working themselves into a fever, shouting over-the-top responses to real or imagined problems, you just have to take it as entertainment. Not far away, there was a similar sort of thing when Berkeley gave a permanent permit for some gay group to park in front of the Marine recruiting center. On the other side, there was the Congressional cafeteria renaming French fries “freedom fries,” and we’ll sometimes hear people demand a boycott of the entire country of Canada.

The Freedom Fries thing, like the Bush Sewage Plant, are pretty much their own punishment.

From all reports, the French were delighted we no longer blamed them for deep fried potato strips.

Maybe Bush, as a politician, takes some professional pride in being named for a facility that handles huge volumes of the stuff.
