California mission church declares they will keep their statue of Saint Junipero Serra. "It is an image of a saint"

The mission said it is private property, and so the city has no jurisdiction over the ststue.

“We recognize the desire to remove statues that are on public property, but as a place of worship for thousands of Catholic faithful, we respectfully must affirm our First Amendment right to keep the statue of St. Junípero Serra safely on our mission grounds where it stands and where the faithful can visit and venerate it.”

Private property means you can have what you want. The statues getting removed are on public lands.

Refreshing to see someone with a backbone for a change.

I pray that the Lord will help protect the mission from those who would seek to do it harm.
