Can food be shaped into Christian symbols?

Is it okay to give my children cross-shaped lollipops and other candies in their Easter baskets? Not sure if this is proper or not.

Yes, it’s perfectly fine. Christians have long shaped food into holy symbols. Examples include hot cross buns, which are marked with a cross; pretzels, which are twisted into praying arms; and Christmas pies, which often are shaped into the child Jesus lying in a manger.
