Can I donate my body to science?

We are doing our estate planning and the question of funeral arrangements and burial has come up. I have always been interested in forensice science, and have had many loved ones serve in law enforcement. I would like to donate my body to science upon my death. I am registered as an organ donor, but recent health problems may not allow that to happen. I feel very strongly about my body not going to “waste” if it can help another person or society as a whole. Does the church allow for me to donate my body rather than be buried?
