Can I receive communion?

Good morning everyone,

I hope someone might be able to clarify some things for me. I am Catholic and my wife is Moravian. We were married three years ago in her church and at the time I was non-practicing and a dispensation was something I didn’t really think I needed. I did not intend on practicing Catholicism.

Since then, I have fully embraced Catholicism. I attend mass weekly and my spirituality and growth in faith is the best it has ever been in my life. Right now our mixed marriage is troubling in the fact that I am reading I cannot recieve communion. Is this true?

Yes, it is true.

Contact your priest regarding the process of convalidation. Once your marriage is convalidated, you can return to the Sacraments.
