Can you explain Mary's perpetual virginity?

I am a strong devotion tothe blessed virgin mary. Is it true that she was not a virgin forever after giving birth to jesus? Please help me interpret these passages matthew 13:55-56 and matthew 12:46-47. Thank you for your kind response.
