Over the past 10 years some five and a half million, 5 500 000, people have died in the Congo from war related causes. Many more than have died in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Holy Land, Rwanda and Bosnia combined. Most of these deaths are from malaria, diarrhoea, pneumonia and malnutrition and other preventable diseases which the disruption caused by conflict render fatal. The Congolese certainly need our prayers and our money.
