Catholic Democrats

#1

There are Catholics who are Democrats. I am a Pro Life Catholic Democrat who voted for Kerry in the election last November because I am a Democrat and will always be a Democrat and I sure was not going to vote for Bush because Bush is not familiar with telling the truth.

And Kerry does tell the truth?

Your post reminded me of this:

“How can you help your friend who has a speck in his eye, when you have a BEAM in yours?”

Think about it before you get all upset at me. What’s worse, 4,000 dead babies today and everyday or Bush telling a lie?

The bottom line is ending abortion. In regards to that, I don’t care who is running as long the politician is anti-abortion. It is just that simple for me.

Genesis315,

In other words no Catholic should be a Democrat is that right? Do you actually believe that Bush has not lied since becoming president?

Sorry guy, but there are just some things that are worse than telling lies. :banghead: I think that if you were going to do something bad to me, I’d rather you lie to me than murder me. But, what the heck, it takes all kinds to make the world go 'round, as they say. If you’re the type of person who would sacrifice the lives of children for the sake of truth-telling - hey! I can respect that!

Of course, the question must be asked, does Kerry never lie? The candidate who talks one way and votes another way?

#7

Your point is that Kerry doesn’t lie?
Guess we can take him on his word then that he will promote abortions around the world with our tax dollars, support gay “marriage”, make the deadly morning after pill available to our teenagers in schools without a parent’s knowledge, support partial birth abortion, cloning, embryonic stem cell research, strike down parental notification laws, etc. etc. etc.
Looks like he was a better choice than someone who ousted an evil dictator who slaughtered thousands upon thousands of his own countrymen.
Sure, the only lie Kerry tells is when he claims to be Catholic!
Get over it already!!

legeorge,

If I am a Pro Life Democrat what was I supposed to do vote Republican? Democrats vote Democrat. Bush lied about what the reason was for starting the war in Iraq by stating that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and there was none. Bush can find money for the war in Iraq but Bush can not find money to give to the veterans who need it a lot more than the military does.

Kerry lied about accepting Church teachings. He lied to everyone when he claims to respect life, yet embraces abortion.

So your allegiance is always to your political party? Interesting, Jesus in the Gospels demanded of His followers that we must sever all allegiances and put Him first if we are to truly to be His disciples in everything. :hmmm:

Good grief Albert, please search this site. There are numerous references to the “Bush lied” baloney.

I was a democrat a long time ago, when Clinton vetoed the partial birth abortion ban:mad: I knew there is only so much leeway you can give to ignorance:banghead: If the democrats want to protect the most vulnerable of this country I am all ears,if not they will not get my vote or support!God Bless

Lying . . . killing . . . hmmm . . . .

It seems to me that one can only successfully be a pro-lifer if he/she actually votes in such a way as to further the pro-life movement. Sur, I think we were wrong for going into Iraq, but you’ve got to weigh what’s more important.

Look at it this way - the war in Iraq was a bad thing, but you’ve got to look at the whole picture. Soldiers are being killed. Yes. But those soldiers knew they’d have to risk their lives when they joined the military. I pray that no more soldiers have to die. I also feel horrible about the Iraqi innocents who have died and been injured (like the little boy who lost his arms). However, Saddam Hussein, who killed far more of his own people than the U.S. soldier casuality and civilian casualities in the Iraqi war combined, is outta there. He’s gone. No more genocide of Kurds. No more torture.

Abortion, however, doesn’t look like it’s going to end very soon. In fact, it has a strong possibility of being a permanent part of American society. Whose responsibility is it to fight it?

Guess. Just take a wild guess. I’ll even give you three guesses. Or *FOUR! * C’mon. I know you can do it.

This is the problem with your posts Albert and I think you are just having some fun by provoking people with these posts.

You are not a Democrat. You are a child of God, period.

I am not republican or democrat. I vote for whoever is going to promote what God wants the most. In this instance, it was Bush.

You need to wake up and open your eyes. Take the beam out and look around. 4,000 lives were lost today and that is the greatest lie of all. If you are truly enraged by lies, you would forget either political party, and be supporting whoever is NOT in favor of abortion. Kerry said he was!

So what’s it going to be Albert? The choice is yours.

This is an interesting point. Since politicians are, by definition, liars, it would seem that it would not play a part in your choice.

All politicians lie.

Kerry promised to only appoint judges to the courts that would maintain abortion “rights” for women and girls. He said he would not appoint pro-life judges.

Did Kerry promise you a welfare check or something? What was your price in exchange for supporting to continued holocost against the unborn?

Will you guys ever get over the fact that…ah yes, I remember…You Lost! Take a cue from MoveOn.com - the only time you will ever hear that from me - and do so.

albert kopsho says he is prolife so he can say he is being a good Catholic is all. obviously in the voting buth abortion is a non issue to him… all the resons which he lists to be against Bush cant be proven, and even if they can be are extremely petty compared to murder of the unborn. Mr kopsho’s kingdom is here on Earth where he wants all the goodies the governemt can give him rather than the Kingdom of God. Better enjoy it while you can Mr Kopsho, because God doesnt care much about your petty issues when you come in front of him to be judged.

felra,

Republicans allegience is to their political party. No Republican would vote Democrat.

Albert

#20

trevor,

You guys seem to forget that it was the Republican party who brought this country into the Great Depression but it was a Democrat president Roosevelt that brought this country out of the Great Depression by starting the work programs of the Works Progress Administration and the Civilian Conservation Corps. My father was provided a job in the Civilian Conservation Corps to send moiney home to my Grandparents during the Great Depression. That is why I will always be a Democrat. If Hoover had been reelected president in 1932 there is no way that Hoover would have started the Works Progress Administration and the Civilian Conservation Corps and the Great Depression would have lasted well into the 1940’s.
