You Can NOT serve both God and Money!
Reading news report after news report I can’t help but recognize that many Catholics are actually followers of Judas Iscariot and not Jesus Christ. If the reports are to be believed, then the main reason for Catholics (among others) voting for Obama (the most pro-abortion death Senator ever) is “it’s the economy stupid”. According to the reports, 54% of Catholic voters gave their vote to Obama because he promised them more money with a better economy. He danged the carrot before the asses and braying all the way into the voting booths they went foaming at the mouth with dollar signs in their greedy eyes.
But what did Barak Obama promise would be the very first thing he would do in office? He promised he would signed FOCA.

So you can tell me “it’s the economy stupid” and I’ll tell you “Abortion stops a beating heart stupid”. It is killing another human being in their earliest stages of life- NO ONE can deny that fact. Killing an innocent is murder, according to God.
These pre-born children are innocents and every single Catholic (and others) who voted for Obama for their wallets instead of for protecting innocent life, has the blood of these innocents on their hands. One day we will all be held accountable for our works (actions) during our lives.
Romans 14:12 "So then, each of us will give an account of himself to God."
Only God knows your heart and intents, if you voted based on your wallet instead of on the life of other human beings you will so be judged by God. Do you worship the idol of money or Almighty God?
Matthew 6:19-24 "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness! “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.”
"Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people came to the decision to put Jesus to death. They bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate, the governor. When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned, he was seized with remorse and returned the thirty silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. “I have sinned,” he said, “for I have betrayed innocent blood.” -Matthew 27

Scripture records Judas as saying “I have sinned, for I have betrayed innocent blood.” Judas betrayed Jesus for 30 silver coins and many Catholic voters betrayed innocent blood in a similar way on November 4th. They chose money over innocent life. They chose to serve money over serving God, you can’t serve both. A choice must be made and sadly for American Catholics we all saw the choice many Catholic voters made on November 4th. We saw 54% of Catholics chose to serve money rather than God. They followed Judas Iscariot who sold out innocent blood to serve money instead of serving God.
Many wonderful Bishops and priests and religious faithful spoke out for innocent life and I applaud them and their efforts. I have no doubt the God will one day say to them “Well done, my good and faithful servants.” To the others…I wouldn’t want to be you on Judgement Day.

My dearest friend Benedict

Thanks for that. A friend of mine once commented our business customers and company shareholders were being slaughtered by abortion. Is it a surprise we may have a global deprssion when you consider this?

If business is down and you don’t like it - STOP KILLING YOUR CUSTOMERS.

If your share price is down and you don’t like it - STOP KILLING YOUR FUTURE STOCK HOLDERS.

We bring all these evils upon ourselves. If people would listen to the church we would have almost no problems at all. LISTEN TO THE POPE .

I think that the question of abortion was a tool they used in your country to create a strong wall between the republican and democratic supporters.
Divide et impera.
Do you think that the republican candidate would put an end to the killing of the innocents?
I doubt it.

They are all the same, they serve the multinational companies and their profits. They don’t care about the little people. It’s the same in all the countries in the world.

Pepople voted for “more money” but I don’t think they did it because they want to be rich. As I understand the american way of life, you people are always in credits. In credits for education, for houses, for cars, for vacations, for everything. Maybe people just want to be more economically independent and hope for times where they won’t have to be in debts. Maybe it’s not about having more, but having what you already have without worrying that the bank will take it away?

I have heard it all…

You have no clue what you are talking about. There are plenty of people in this country who would end abortion overnight if they could. After all, it started overnight with a court case, and that’s where it will end. President Bush nominated two Supreme Court Justices to hold lifetime appointments on the bench. Both are practicing Catholics, young, and very pro-life. This battle will only be won when the Supreme Court has had the final word.

American way of life? Contrary to what you might see on TV, not everyone is beholden to banks. In fact, most are not. Most people are responsible with their money and only spend what is their own. The uproar is about the people who said the system is unfair, even though responsible people were the ones who didn’t buy a house they couldn’t afford, and now have to bail out the people who did.

You know as much about America as I do about Croatia, all from TV and the internet. That doesn’t sound flattering, does it? Next time, choose your words more carefully.

It wasn’t my intention to sound rude, I’m sorry if that’s how my post sounded to you.
I just wanted to say that no matter who governs, the world is going down the road of destruction. Bush may have done some good about the abortion issue, but it was accompanied by a lot of bad things in other areas, so when you put all the + and - together, I think all politicians are the same.
Honest people can’t afford campaigns.

My information on life in the US is based on the experiences of my relatives and friends who have lived there. It may be wrong, but I just wanted do point out to the OP that not everyone is lustful for money, people in your country have to take loans to go to university or to get treatment if they get ill.

I agree with this. Respectfully to the OP… the title of this thread “Catholics who like money”… seems to differ from the content of the thread. It appears to be “judgment” aimed specifically at AMERICAN Catholics. Before you label anyone a “follower of Judas Iscariot”… I would recommend that you review Chapter 7:1-5 of the Gospel of St. Matthew.

“For as you judge, so will you be judged.”

Believe me… there are plenty of us “American Catholics” here… who did NOT vote for Mr. Obama. Plenty of us who voted for LIFE against “the economics issues”. And who are doing all that can be done, to turn things around. Fr. Frank Pavone of “Priests for Life” comes to mind. If you don’t believe that, then you’re not familiar enough with the Catholic Church in the United States… and therefore, should be careful with your comments.

God bless.

Oooh I like that. It is a very interesting way of putting things. Thank you for posting it!

Not related to the topic of economics, but I recently heard another interesting view on abortion. The modern feminist movement in Western countries is so eager to save women in developing nations by expanding “reproductive rights.” They think this will somehow help the plight of these poor women. By fighting for those rights of women in places like India and China, women are now having ultrasounds, finding out that the baby is a girl and aborting it. The “reproductive right” is being used to specifically eradicate women in those countries that don’t value women in the first place. Modern feminists are in quite the pickle!

You know, that is a good point. Thank you for posting it. The kind of society we live in is going to shape the degree to which we need money. Thank you for pointing this out. People who “love money” have been the topic of conversation in the spirituality forum a lot lately.

I am an American and never really thought about this. We do have to pay for most everything over here. School and healthcare are not free and not cheap. I’m not a socialist, nor do I want my country to go that way(Yikes Obama, we’ll see what happens). Still, I can see how someone who is accustomed to a socialist country would think we Americans love money too much. Some Americans do love it too much with several houses and luxury cars, but a lot of us work so that we can eat, afford health care and get schooling to have a job that enables us to afford the first two.

All of that being said, no one should have voted for Obama. The fact that McCain was not as strong of a pro-life candidate as we wanted him to be is not an excuse. McCain was not singing the praises of FOCA. I apologize if that became too political but that is what this thread was adressing sort of.
