There has been a lot of speculation about this for some time. Just to be safe, do not give a cell phone to your pet rat.

My own observations have convinced me that people who cannot drive, walk, or listen to a homily at mass without checking their phones already had pre-existing brain damage.

I know this is a serious potential problem, but not for me personally. I will not get a smart phone until one of my Amish neighbors convinces me that I need one when I am at home most of the time with a land line and cable modem computer connection

I’m just hoping there’s nothing like second-hand cellphone waves. I don’t have one either, but the majority of people do now. And yes, those idiots who walk around or drive texting are beyond moronic. But what came first - the cellphone or the moron?

On the off chance that it’s true, I’ve always used a Pong case on my phones. I also don’t allow my kids to play on it, and only let them talk on it using the speaker phone or less than 5 minutes. So far that’s worked because they’re usually just answering a phone call for me and handing it over.

Thanks for the post, Trader, I take great heart in the fact that someone else also refuses to own a cellphone.

Also, there’s a good book on the subject that I recommend, called Disconnect, by Devra Davis.

Pure anecdote here, but in 2008, I discovered non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma in a tumor immediately behind my left (listening) ear. Of course, as lymphoma is a blood cancer which flows freely throughout the circulatory system, no causation may be inferred. Still, I shall always wonder.

I hardly ever use my iPhone for phone calls, just browsing etc.

This study is worrying though.

Radiation comes from computers as well. And there is some radiation from televisions too.

#7

I guess the science is settled. Time to junk all technology.

#8

“Some radiation” does not mean it is comparable to having a 2 watt radio transmitter mere centimeters from your brain. Circuits inside computers and televisions radiate power many orders of magnitude lower than this.

#9

Still they make a lot of idiots every more idiotic.

New study found. Everything is linked to cancer. I think I might go get myself a cigarette.

If anyones mouse does develop cancer from using a cellphone I read of an idea recently on how to cure the cancer. It is also an energy idea. A few articles on the idea can be read below.

To some degree I want to joke about the cancer cure idea. Then again maybe there is something about the importance of human touch to improve health.

Can you cure cancer with your hands?

A totally mind-blowing experience: I had the pleasure of meeting Bill Bengston last week at the Society for Scientific Exploration. (I was present because the Society was kind enough to award me their Dinsdale Prize.) Among all the many intriguing talks at that meeting was Bill’s presentation: he cures cancer in mice, with 100% success rate. He does this by using his hands. Nothing else.

Yes, this sounds awfully suspicious, but if you read his informal account in Edge Science you may be as impressed as I am. Bill has published many papers describing his procedures and results in peer-reviewed journals. He’s not a cancer specialist of any sort – in fact he’s a sociologist. But he collaborates with medical and biological researchers all over the country. These mammary adenocarcinomas are 100% fatal; yet, he is able to cure them at the rate of 100%. The mice are really cured: once the tumor disappears, they live out their normal life spans, without ever contracting cancer.

The 800 pound gorilla in the room: if this treatment works so well in mice, then why not humans? Check out Bill’s explanation at the end of his Edge Science piece.

Well, we can only look back thru history to see absolutely deadly products that were once thought to be harmless, there is no reason to think some of these things are not being used right now and in the future, we will find the truth about them, and people 50 yrs from now, will looking back wondering how people in the early 2000s could have been so stupid not to recognize the danger, kinda like we do today about cigarettes, radium, etc etc. LOL
