Hundreds of people walk three days to protest the exploitation of a mountainous area of Kendeng through the construction of cement factories. Religious leaders and intellectuals support the protest. The Court of Semarang has upheld people’s request and blocked permits for further construction.
Personally, I’m not a big fan of these events. I find that in the end, they accomplish little as far as the good cause goes (sometimes the cause being marched for is not just).
One can appreciate the Abrahamic fellowship, but I’ve always been more interested in real tangible solutions.
