Chaplet of the Divine Mercy

I’ve been praying the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy daily but am confused about one thing.

I thought I read that a Chaplet is only one decade of the Rosary, but then I’ve read a few times lately that the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy uses all 5 decades. Which is true?

The chaplet is prayed on traditional Rosary beads.

Begin with an Our Father, a Hail Mary, and The Apostles’ Creed.

On the medallion, or a single bead, say this prayer:
Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, our Lord Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

On each of the ten beads of a decade, say this prayer:
For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

**Repeat **the above two steps for the remaining beads.

On the chain of three beads say this prayer, once for each bead:
Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

Conclude with the Hail Holy Queen (Salve Regina)—optional.

Hope this helps. What a great prayer with such blessings.

Thanks a lot, LucyLou!
