China to Sterilize Couples With More Than One Child

You guys hear about this? This is amazing:

BEIJING- In what US officials are calling a “startling and frightening prospect,” Hu Jintao announced Monday a radical solution to China’s growing population problems: sterilization.

Speaking through a translator, Hu Jintao, the Paramount Leader of the People’s Republic of China, detailed his reasoning behind his government’s plans: “Overpopulation in our great nation has become a problem that the government must take care of. Unfortunately, the size of China has forced us to be inventive with slowing down our birthrates.”*

I don’t want to have a really big post, so read the rest at jumpinginpools.blogspot.com/2009/06/china-to-sterilize-couples-with-more.html

not suprising at all. i expect to see this trend spread to other parts of the world fueld by the global warming crowd, and sadly i wouldnt be suprised to see it gain favor here. maybe it wont suceed but i wouldnt put it past some to try it here.

Frightening. The communist rhetoric is astonishing:

Yet with the growing number of children, the strain grows on each of us. Therefore, families cannot be allowed to have more than one child, they should not even be able to.

"People who break the law must be disciplined, as in any sort of crime. Penalties, as well, are just and appropriate to the crime that is committed. We have simply come to realize that people w]ho do not follow the government’s wishes are simply not being disciplined correctly.

And yet China was celebrated when it hosted the Beijing Olympics for ‘cleaning up’ its human rights abuses? Yeah, right!

Forced sterilization is recognized by the International Criminal Court as a crime against humanity; I doubt this is going to change any time soon.

See Supreme Court cases Buck v Bell (which upheld the right of the government to ‘sentence’ mentally ill individuals to compulsory sterilization) and Skinner v Oklahoma (which largely overturned Buck v Bell). Eugenic sterilization as well as sterilization as punishment for a crime committed has been deemed unconstitutional in the US for quite awhile.

Also, my guess is that constitutionally speaking, cases such as Griswold v Connecticut, Roe v Wade, and Planned Parenthood v Casey could all be used to uphold the rights of men and women to bodily integrity and freedom from imposed sterilization, as they carve out a right to privacy that is rock-solid in American jurisprudence. I don’t believe that our Supreme Court is going to allow forced sterilization any time soon, whether or not the idea of breeding humanity into extinction becomes vogue in this country.

People who break the law must be disciplined, as in any sort of crime. Penalties, as well, are just and appropriate to the crime that is committed.

a baby is a crime, needing punishment? correlating babies and punishment, where have we heard that before?

Actually, I think it is very surprising. Many recent news reports indicate that the one child policy isn’t being enforced in much of China.

Perhaps even more odd is that a search of Google News turns up no reports of Hu Jintao saying what the headline claims. In fact, a Google search of the web indicates that only the obscure blog which was cited in the first post seems to report it.

Also odd is that the blog article refers to Hu Jintao as “The Paramount” instead of his title of President.

I’m suspicious of the accuracy of the article on which this thread is based.

Uh oh…once the U.N finds out about this they will be sorry. I can’t wait to see what our secretary of State Hillary Clinton has to say about this. The U.S. would never tolerate that from such a big trading partner.

Our tax dollars are probably helping with this. :(:mad::mad::frowning:

Yeah right. The UN has been behind many, if not all, the “population control” genocide plans. They will support this but give the impression that they do not. The duplicity of the Socialist/Relativists/Liberals show no bounds.

How? Last time I checked, China was buying OUR debt, not the other way around…

well we did just decide to help fund overseas abortons and ‘women’s health’ issues. i bet they find a way to fit this in.

UNFPA which Obama is going to force us / has already forced us to support with our tax dollars. Its the Organization that helps enforce the ONE CHILD policy that China has. Our tax money goes to fund this atrocity.

I wouldn’t be surprised

Ya think ?

With Obama restoring the financial support for the UN Population Fund to support China’s coercive one-child-per- family policy through forced abortions and sterilizations, you actually think they give a damn?

o they give a damn about this. they care that it happens because it is what they want.

I meant that the UN wouldn’t oppose this new Chinese policy

I’d just be interested in seeing where the Mexico City Policy $$ is going. I was under the impression it was headed to third-world countries where US aid dollars are typically spent. I didn’t think China received any US aid money whatsoever. Their economy is stronger than ours…

Now this doesn’t make the situation in China any less worrisome–I just don’t think we as Americans need to worry about our money contributing to the Chinese government sterilizing its own citizens. That’s a bit of a stretch for me.

I know that the UN supports abortion and sterilization as means of population control…but forced abortions and sterilizations? Can someone give me a source, please? I’m just in disbelief here.

well we do need to worry and it is not a strech. it is real and happening now a this article from april points out.

You are funding forced abortions in China. So am I. Not only elective abortions. Forced abortions.

According to the Congressional-Executive Commission on China report, released on Oct. 31, 2008, “Violators of the [one-child] policy are routinely punished with exorbitant fines, and in some cases, subjected to forced sterilization, forced abortion, arbitrary detention, and torture.”

Just this month, Congress quietly passed $50 million in funding for UNFPA, the United Nations Family Planning Fund. The bill includes language that voids Kemp-Kasten, which for 23 years has stood to prevent U.S. dollars from funding coercive family planning.

believe

Congress recently appropriated $34 million for the United Nations Population Fund, the organization that provides family planning services, such as birth control and abortion, to developing nations.

Among these nations is China, a nation whose “family plan” is a one-couple, one-child policy that coerces women to abort pregnancies that are not state sanctioned. The horror stories of women being subjected to forced abortions and involuntary sterilization under communist China are too numerous to be dismissed.

During the past week, dozens of women in southwest China have been forced to have abortions even as late as nine months into the pregnancy, according to evidence uncovered by NPR.
