Chris Christie Endorses Donald Trump

#21

Christie has tried and convicted terrorists, he would be ideal to be an Attorney General.

Bush appointed Christie to some lawyer position in the 2000s.

I know that. But, Atlantic City (where there are Trump Casino’s) is in New Jersey. A lot of income is generated in Atlantic City, Christie wasn’t going to endorse someone else.

I think he was attorney general for New Jersey.

I actually like Christie and think he would have done a good job as president; I’m disappointed that he jumped on this populist band-wagon so eagerly. I still hope a Trump nomination could be averted.

I don’t believe that his endorsement has anything to do with tourism

It’s interesting how, I don’t want to say a negative thing about them, I like them both but there wasn’t room for 2 guys as similar as these 2 are in temperament in the race, Trump took some of Christie’s thunder.

Of the two, I’d say Christie was the heavyweight.

I think it might, just a little bit. The New Jersey shore was hit with hurricane Sandy pretty significantly. Trump has casinos in New Jersey, they provide money for New Jersey. I couldn’t see him endorsing any of the other four.

Both Christie and trump are straight talkers and are good on their feet. Will make a good team.

LOL, do you think Trump is gonna get mad and take his toys home (put his Casino’s on a trailer and move them)? That’s not how business decisions are made.

If Cuba becomes a new playground, like the old days, Trump would build a new casino, as would Wynn etal.

I don’t know; I just can’t see Christie as VP. He, like Trump, needs to be in charge.

He did say in today’s presser that he wants to go into private sector, didn’t he?

This would make sense, he would have to pick a social conservative before I would even consider giving him my vote. If he picks someone who is just a fiscal conservative I’ll for sure be sitting this one out.

Maybe deep down he’s banking on Trump will lose the general so he himself can try again in 4 yrs without having to face an incumbant Republican.

Trump has the highest unfavorable rating of any candidate ever. 60% of America viewed the guy unfavorably just a few wks ago. More than did Hillary Clinton.

And even greater numbers of Latinos…

“Today, 8 in 10 Hispanic voters have an unfavorable view of Trump. That includes more than 7 in 10 who have a “very unfavorable” impression of him, which is more than double the percentage of any other major candidate.”

washingtonpost.com/news/politics/wp/2016/02/25/poll-trumps-negatives-among-hispanics-rise-worst-in-gop-field/

"The Republican nominee selected to run for president in 2016 will need to get a higher share of Latino votes than in the past - as high as almost half in some key battleground states, according to a new analysis by Latino Decisions.

That’s a high mountain to climb for the Republican Party considering it’s twice the percentage that Mitt Romney received when he ran as the Republican presidential candidate in 2012. Back then, Romney received just 23 percent of the Latino vote.

Even if the Republican Party wins 60 percent of the white vote—which hasn’t done in a presidential election since 1988—the Republican presidential nominee would need to get 42 percent and in another scenario as high as 47 percent of Latino votes in order to win the popular vote, the study finds."

“This Chris Christie endorsement of Trump is real signal to GOP establishment that they had better begin thinking about Trump as the future,” former House Speaker Newt Gingrich tweeted Friday.

Umm… is Newt next?

Gingrich? I suppose there are some Republicans that think his opinion matters. I’m not one of them though.

No. I mean his endorsement is an acknowledgment of appreciation that the Trump Casino’s are functioning and that they generate income for New Jersey.

I’m glad somebody caught that!
